On February 8, 2016, BBB received a report through BBB’s Scam Tracker regarding Australia ETA, an online company advertising travel visa services.  The consumer alleged she was misled by the website and paid an extra $50 for services that are offered for $15 through the official Australian government site.  In the footnote of Australia ETA’s website, the company provides a disclaimer that says they are “not affiliated with the Australian Government.  You can apply for an ETA in a website of the Australian Government. But if you are using our service, our visa experts will help you to apply more comfortable. Our service fee is $50(USD), including $20(AUD) which is the Australian Government processing fee.”  

BBB could not find a business license registered for Australia ETA with Washington State Department of Revenue.  BBB confirmed the advertised addresses in Bickleton, WA are residential and the business is not located there.  BBB also found two other websites that are at the same address, offer similar services and go by Canada eTA and U.S. ESTA. BBB could not locate business licenses for these companies with Washington State Department of Revenue.  All three websites were registered on October 5, 2016 and ownership information is privacy protected.  BBB called the phone number listed on the website but reached a recording in a foreign language and was unable to leave a message. BBB has reached out to the company via U.S. mail and email. To date, BBB has not received a response.
