I brought an antique firearm to Al lind custom gunstocks. After Al took a look at the broken stock he said it would cost about $35-$40 and take a week to fix, it was rather inexpensive so I left it there with him. I called about 6 days later just to try and get an update from him. For the next 4 days I could not get ahold of him and he would not call me back. After finally getting in contact with him I drove to his shop only to have him tell me "I thought you already came and picked it up earlier this week". After telling him that I didn't, he said someone may have came and took my gun. After walking into his shop and looking in a gun case I pointed out my gun which he had on his gun rack along with several stocks and 3 or 4 other guns. After verifying the serial numbers I noticed he had someone else's bolt in my gun. If I had not said anything I would have gone home with someone else's bolt (I took mine with me when I dropped off the gun). After that confusion he looked confused and asked me what price he originally quoted me. After I said $35-$40 he smiled at me and said lets just call it at $45 due to some other work he said he had to do. This man has been in this business for over 60 years I believe, he knows what it costs and what he had to do to repair the stock. While he did do a pretty decent job repairing the stock I was impressed with his level of unprofessionalism, inability to track which firearm belonged to his customers, and his inability to communicate. He is not to be trusted and in the future would not trust him with my firearm.
