Richard Pearce was subcontracted by my pole barn repair contractor to seal my old pole barn roof. He met with me prior to performing the job to look at the roof before he started. He had no contract, gave no start or end date or the scope of work to be performed. I assumed he would have had something contractually with my contractor but as I found out he did not. When we met he told me he had been doing roofs for 35 years and the coating he was to apply should last for at least 15 to 20 more years and would seal all holes and cracks present. A week later he showed up and sprayed the roof with an aluminum paint that did nothing more than change the color of the roof. He called me looking for payment because my contractor who hired him was not responsive to his calls so I told him that I could write him a check for $3000.00. which he picked up. A week later my repair contractor Roger ******* showed up and started my repair which involved replacing the siding and the gurts and any other boards that were rotted. After the first few hours he had torn off the south side and and started replacing the horizontal gurts with some boards that were not what were code nor were the correct length and were cobbled together. It was like he had no clue of what he was doing and had all sorts of excuses so I fired him and hire a local contractor who was spot on awesome and did a fantastic job but he asked me who did the coating on my roof and pointed out how horrible of a job roof coating was and was nothing more than an aluminum paint that didn't seal anything and when I told him how much I paid he told me I was totally ripped off and there was no protective seal to what he applied. The first rain revealed all sorts of leaks throughout the roof that created puddles of water throughout the floor inside. I called Richard and told him and he told me that he was hired to paint the roof not seal and hung up the phone. No resolution, no contract horrible job! Buyer beware!!
