Just need to add ****** says " it's just a dollar".Whole version:May 13th 2024 at around 1:15 in the afternoon. I stop at the Shell gas/food/carwash for a afternoon lunch item.I decide upon a ******************. Shelf tag says $4.99. I check the tag to make sure it matches the item, and they do.So I take one of the many same items from behind the tag to the cashier.She scans the item, and says $5.99 to **** tell her it's $4.99, and that I did check the shelf tag before deciding on my lunch item.We go to the cold sandwich section, and I point out where the shelf tag is, and comment on the row of the same food item, as the burger I'm purchasing was the first one in the row, and comment on how there is now missing one sandwich.The cashier removes the 100% correct $4.99 shelf tag.I ask "I'm getting it for $4.99. ************ girls working at the counter say No. They can only sell at the scanner price.So I tell them that I'm not going to buy it, and start walking out the door.As I'm leaving. One of the girl cashiers says " it's just a dollar ".I told her that is a theft, and that by over charging me, she is a thief.This went on three times, and I left.I stopped at the grocery store down the street. Got a lunch item ( teriyaki chicken) and proceed to my work site for the day.As I'm eating my lunch item. I ****** for the phone number of the Shell station.I call. Asking for the manager/owner. The girl on the phone states that their not there. So I ask for the corporate phone number. She hangs up on **** call again. This time she says that she doesn't know the phone number.So I have to ****** it.I called, but I started to have cell phone issues, where I could hear them, but they could not hear **** ended up writing a message.Like I'm doing now.That's it. Basically Shell employees don't know CA law
