Lack of communication and deception on the part of Great Western has resulted in extensive delays in my building project Signed contract with Great Western on Oct. 4 2020 for a steel bldg. ** Feb. 26, 2021 I signed off on the final plans. After this there was no communication from Great Western about the status of my project. I repeatedly tried to reach my project manager with no luck. I was informed by email on April 30 2021 that the effects of covid/ tariffs were causing a delay in my project. I was receiving no communication about the status of my project or the impact this would have on final pricing, in fact the only communication to this day has been in response to my inquiries. By May 1st 2021 I still hadn't received word from my project manager about the manufacturing approval that was needed to put my project into production. I once again requested them. ** May 4th 2021 I was told the price of my project would be going up because the window of time for the initial price had elapsed. ** May 11 2021 I sent another email complaining about the lack of communication and the increase in my project cost. After raising concerns with *********************** Director of ****************** the Manufacturing approval was finally sent to me on May 30 2021. It was at this time that I was informed for the first time that it would not be 6-8 weeks for delivery after signing of manufacturing approval. I heard nothing from Great Western about the status until 10-6-21 in response to my email. I was told delivery would be spring 2022.** 12-23-21 in response to my email I was told that the delay was now due to the new fabrication facility in ************** not being up and running. Again on Feb 7 22. in response to an email from me I was told delays were due to their new manufacturing facility not being running. The only time I hear from Great Western is when I complain in an email.

I am rejecting this response because:

Thank you for speaking with me about the delays In my building project. I realize as owner of the company your time is valuable. If you recall, we discussed two possible options to resolve the problem; first was delivery in May of a redesigned building, the second was the possible delivery in July of the original design.
The delays on the part of Great Western have put me in a difficult position. The uncertainty and lack of communication on the part of Great Western has resulted in me having to adjust my plans for retirement and moving. As such my ability to oversee the project has greatly diminished as I will be living and working on the east coast for an additional year. In addition the delays have resulted in my contractor pursuing other opportunities. As a school teacher my funds are not unlimited. Having a sizable down payment tied up for over a year now has become burdensome.
I feel at this point the best option would be to dissolve our agreement. I understand that your company has put work into the design of the building and deserves to be compensated for that service. Because of the numerous delays (it has now been 16 months) I feel that I should be refunded my investment.

      ********************,

Thank-you for reaching out.  We are working hard to ensure that our project managers are reaching out to our customers regularly to provide updates on anticipated delivery timelines.  We are sorry that you have found our communication lacking  The reason we opened a manufacturing facility is to provide faster lead times to you and all our customers than our existing suppliers were able to provide, and we have been shipping buildings from our manufacturing facility since December.  All buildings are being slotted for delivery, and you will be provided with an anticipated delivery window in the next few weeks, likely late spring or summer.  Please let me know if there is an ideal month that will work best for you, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

      Sincerely,

      Great Western Buildings

If I was a deposit Hunter as you claim I wouldnt have tried to deliver your building. You refused it.

Also we have no form letters for the BBB and I find the accusation offensive.

I will be delivering your project in late June as you and I discussed previously. I expect you to uphold your contractual obligations.

If you would like to cancel, I will accommodate that.

We are ready, willing, and able to complete the services you contracted, and to schedule delivery of your building.  If you wish to cancel, you may do so.  You will not receive a refund because of the work already performed and expenses weve already incurred on your behalf.

      Complaint: 16818537

I am rejecting this response because: The agreed upon service was not provided. The company never provided the promised support and communication. For over a year Great Western has not communicated to me any timeline for delivery of the agreed upon product. Any communication about delivery of the product was generated by me not them. Each time I reached out to them ( on four different occasions) I was given conflicting reasons for the delay. Great Western

has given me zero reason to believe their latest communication. I have given this company numerous opportunities to deliver the agreed upon product. It took opening a complaint with the BBB for them to become responsive to my complaints. Now they are stating in a generic unsigned communication through the BBB that they are able to deliver. This is in direct conflict with a statement by the President *********************** that I could not expect delivery before the end of summer 2022. This would be almost two full years since signing the contract with Great Western. They have tens of thousands of dollars of my money. I would think any potential customer of ***************************************** would see that this type of business practice is unacceptable. Since no service has been provided I want to cancel this contract and expect a full refund of my deposit.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

I entered into contract with GWB on 11/11/2020. Paid a deposit of $3,000.00 at that point and then another ********* on November 11 2020 to this date I have nothing but broken promises and excuse after excuse. At this point I have over 60K invested from tree removal to plumbing and electrical work not to mention the foundation and floor concrete work all ready by the time I was promised the building would be complete - the second promised date. I was told June/July 2021 then that was moved to Oct/Nov 2021 then it moved to Feb/March and now I am being told maybe it could possibly, potentially be done by June/July 2022. My building permit was requested approved and paid for on Feb 23,2021. I also have 16K in garage doors ordered in May ***************************************************************************************** I need to start paying rent for storage.I was required to redo the foundation engineering (another ****) as this was a "monolithic" pour and that this was not advised for this area and the building. In December ************************************************************************ March via email. When I emailed called and texted I again received an email from the project manager stating: "I do not show anything definitive for the shipping date yet but we are getting closer. Based on your place in the queue I'd say that sometime in March is still a possibility. We are still in the process of getting the shop geared up to run at capacity at which point we expect things to move fast."My contract says average of 12 weeks which was the expectation set by them - not me. Clearly this is a misleading and fraudulent statement they have told both myself and others. (looking at the other reviews). I am also in contact with an attorney to review my contract rights (there is only a termination by GWB) I need a refund or a delivery of the building as promised MULTIPLE times.I understand manufacturing delays but this is unacceptable and ridiculous.

I purchased a building last year , that was delivered September of 2021. Not all the parts were delivered at that time. Company contacted, parts were ordered to finish my building. The parts arrived 10/21/21 by Fed Ex. I was billed for the delivered parts , the amount of $154.00. Since I was billed and not the company . The company was contacted at least 4 times , to resolve this matter. Every time I am assured that it will be paid by Great Western Building. FOUR months later I am still receiving a ****. I will pay the **** to avoid collections as stated in my last ****. I expect to be reimbursed for the shipping cost, that was not due to my negligence. All shipping costs were paid prior to delivery of my shop .

      ******************,

Will you please provide us with a copy of the bills?  Our team has been assisting you with this matter, and it was their understanding that it was resolved.  Please note, the **** you describe is not from our ***** account, and we are not ***** so the more information we have from you the better we can assist you.

      Sincerely,
