Campground Membership Outlet (CMO) handled the sale of our Thousand Trails membership. The sale price was set at $6200. We where contacted by Thousand Trails that our membership had closed on 8/12/2024. To this date *** has not paid us the money from the sale. They do not reply to emails or return our calls. There have been 3 times we called using different numbers leaving messages that we where interested in buying a membership from them they immediately called us back. When confronted about the situation they give us excuses of the book keeper is running behind, they will be sending the check next week and they will call once the check has been cut. Still waiting, no check or calls have been received. We picked CMO because they orginally sold us the membership and that transaction went smoothly.Business response

I held a Thousand Trails camping Membership, *********. I contacted Thousand trails, put my membership on hold. I expressed that I no longer wanted to camp is there a way to sell membership ?I was told to contact Campground Membership Outlet, phone # ************. I contacted them on 7-29-24. *******, returned my call on phone # **************. She explained the program to me, sent me forms to sign. Stating the buyer will pay $750.00 transfer fee and I in turn will be Paid $1800.00 for my membership 7 to 10 business days after the transfer was complete.I was later contacted by ***** ************** via text to sign an additional form and forward to her.The transfer has been completed and no one is returning my calls or texts to date. I have not received $1800.00 payment for my membership. I fear I have been scammed!Initial Complaint

Engaged with Campground Membership Outlet to resell a Thousand Trails membership on March 26, 2024. On April 26, 2024 the contract to transfer the membership to the buyer was signed and the sale was finalized. Requests for payment of $1500, as outlined in signed contract, were made via email on the following dates:5/31/24 7/1/24 7/2/24 7/9/24 7/12/24 7/25/24 7/29/24 8/27/24 9/3/24 9/10/24 9/17/24 9/18/24 Business stated in all communication that they owe the payment and they will process and mail it. We contacted Campground Membership Outlet in May 2024 about selling our Adventure level Thousand Trails membership. They were prompt in responding to our inquiry for sale and stated that they had a buyer for our membership at that time. We signed the transfer paperwork on 5/29/2024 and received confirmation that they received it. The transfer was received and completed by Thousand Trails on 6/3/24. ******* from Campground Membership outlet had assured us that we would be sent the $7,000 payment for the sale of the membership via check in 2-3 weeks. As of 8/15/24 we had not been issued a check. In the three weeks since we have left numerous voicemails and sent follow-up emails several times and not received any follow up. We have been unable to confirm if payment has even been sent.Initial Complaint

Campground Membership Outlet started selling my thousand trails membership in March 2024. It was sold and I receiver confirmation from thousand trails that it was sold on August ******. I was told I would receive my check for $1000.00 in a week. It is now September 9th and still no check and I get no response from anyone.Initial Complaint

I was referred to Campground Membership Outlet in January of 2024. I completed the initial authorization for them to obtain my membership details and faxed it to them on 23 February. I then got an undated letter from them saying they had sold the membership for $1600. They then told me the buyer had backed out but that they would try to sell my membership for $1100. We then signed their form called Assignor's Declaration and Transfer Fees and Dues Information and faxed it to them on 20 June. I then received a letter from Thousand Trails dated July 22 telling me the transfer had been completed. I have called their office several times and left messages with no response. I also have sent them a fax on 20 August requesting information on when I could expect my money but still no response.Initial Complaint

Campground Membership Outlet sold my Thousand Trails membership and agreed to send me a check for $1700. I received a letter from Thousand Trails on 5/28/24 stating that the sale had been successfully completed. It has been almost 3 months since receiving the letter from Thousand Trails and I still have not received my check. Emails and phone calls to Campground Membership Outlet go unanswered. All I want is the $1700 they promised I would receive. After reading other reviews for this company, my experience is not uncommon.Customer response

Campground Membership Outlet finally sent the check they promised. It arrived almost 3 months to the day after my membership was successfully transferred. They offered excuses, but no legitimate reason for the 3-month delay in sending the check.Initial Complaint

Campground Membership Outlet owes us $6000. They sold our Thousand Trails Membership. Thousand Trails informed us on June 4th that the membership had been transferred to the new owners. Today is August 23 and Campground Membership Outlet has not sent us the $6000 owed to us from the sale of the Membership.
