We purchased our house and the ** unit is original to the home and we wanted to get it serviced, so we called Flow-Tech. They checked the coolant level and told us we were low and that it would be $300/lb to fill it with R22. They could not tell us how low it was, and they provided a quote for a new system. We called around to other businesses for other options and found that Flow-Tech's prices for both R22 and replacement systems were almost double of other reputable businesses in the area. To make matters worse, when we had a competitor come out to add R422, he found that we weren't actually low on coolant. I do not recommend this business.

As mentioned over the phone, there are several factors that go into a quote for a new unit and the quotes vary greatly compared to units found on the internet due to these additional factors. When looking up new units on the internet, it doesnt take in to account the sizing of the units, brands, market factors, materials and installation of the equipment, and many other factors that are taken into account with new unit quotes. Flow-Tech always tries to stay competitive with our local market; however, we cannot be competitive with units sold on the internet due to all the factors listed above.
