We purchased ****** (a dog) on 3/11/22 ($275). We were told he was heartworm negative - he was positive for both microfiliaria and heartworm disease. He also had an upper respiratory infection ($18.40), kennel cough ($91.80), and worms. ($8.00) We assumed we were getting reasonably healthy pet. We did not receive any medical records for ******. We had to go by the word of the seller who has been deceitful throughout. Their vet stated ****** was heartworm positive and received doxycycline. He was microfilaria positive as well. We were told we had to use their vet to incur no cost. When ****** was returned to us, he could barely walk because he was in so much pain from the procedure. He whined and cried and I called Cober's Canines that evening to ask where his pain meds and steroids were. **** told me she forgot to give them to us. We were over 80 miles away and couldn't get them so he had to suffer. I was very displeased by this and her attitude when she said, "I'm only human". I received no paperwork from this vet or from ****.I had follow up heartworm treatment done at my veterinarian to avoid the inhumane treatment of Cober's Canines. ****** was returned to us both times with no pain. I don't know what their veterinarian did, but they hurt him. Our cost for the two treatments (******) and ($141.66). The dog's records I had to get myself from ***** stated he was neutered. He was not. We paid to get him neutered after he recovered from the heartworm treatment ($219.33). We have incurred $889.89 to get ****** healthy. I am pleased to say he is *********** and loved. Cober's Canine's should reimburse the full cost of the treatment ****** has had minus the purchase price which is $622.89.I emailed Cober's Canines on November 5, 2022. She responded stating she takes no responsibility for what happened and blamed us. She was so inhumane in his treatment and stated she will not discuss this.
