Having used KNE Realty in the past and having had a positive experience, I never expected my second and last experience with this unethical company. I consulted the owner, ******, who recommended her husband, *******************, to complete the renovation of my house, under his company, KNE Development. ** is also a license real estate agent so I expected him to use his expertise to make economic renovations so I could sell my house and minimize my loss. Although he promised he would treat me well and provide me invoices, I never saw a single one. He promised the project would cost between $80k to $100k but he would finish it and work magic to stay on the lower side of the budget. After 8 months and $76k, the house was no where near to being finished. I fired him after he demanded $20k and threatened to put a lien on my house if I didnt pay him. I called around and found out he never took out any electrical or plumbing permits and, worst of all, had failed to pay an HVAC contractor five months after completing the work. Despite the real estate market slowing down and mortgage rate interest rates rising of the eight months, he repeatedly told me that my house would sell for $350,000, without doing any market analysis. He brushed aside my skepticism and told me to trust him. Since then, Ive done a little digging and realized both ** and ****** owned Sureguard Roofing in ******* between 2008-2010. Six lawsuits later and civil judgements against them for a combined total in excess of $300k in Macomb County, they filed for bankruptcy and discharged those debts. Then, they moved to ** where they are continuing to take money or supplies for other people and companies while rending no work or no payment. Buyer and Seller Beware.
