      I went in for an annual GYN exam at the Walk in GYN care clinic in ******* on 8-30-2024. My pap came back abnormal, so a pelvic ultrasound, endo-cervical biopsy and colposcopy were all scheduled. The pelvic ultrasound and the endo-cervical biopsy were both completed with no issues. The colposcopy was scheduled for October 14th at 11am. I went into the office on October 13th, because the medications that I needed to take in preparation for the exam had not been called in to the pharmacy and the phones were down at the clinic. The medication was then called into a different pharmacy, so I can have it in preparation for the exam the following day. I had to take 3 ******* 200mg 8 hours prior to the exam and ***** complete 500-60-15mg 1 hour prior to the exam. The exam was scheduled for 11am, so I had to wake up at 3am to take the medication 8 hours prior to the exam. I woke up at about 5am with the worst pain I ever felt. The medication caused abdominal pain, cramping, bloating and nausea. I was up from 5am in excruciating pain waiting for my appointment. It took everything in my power to get up to go to the appointment due to the amount of pain I was in. When I arrived at the clinic, I couldn't even stand or sit up straight due to the pain. ******* ***** came over and talked to me about the medication and the pain it causes. She offered me ***** and or water, but I declined both. When I got into the exam room Dr. ******* ****** came in and very nonchalantly informed me that they did not have the equipment needed to perform the exam, but they would try to get it from another location. I was floored by this information, because not only did they schedule me for this appointment, but also my appointment wasn't until 11am, so they had ample time to attempt to get the equipment in before my appointment time. It is horrible that I was put in this painful situation. I have not got the exam done and I am still in pain till today. DO NOT GO TO DR. ******* ******

      Hi ********,We deeply apologize for your recent poor experience at our *************** We always strive for excellence in patient care and pride ourselves in doing our best to put our patients first. The supply orders had been placed well in advance and the supplies were expected to be on site the day of the procedure. As you are well aware, many medical facilities have been affected with shortages and supply chain disruptions first with the port strikes and then due to the hurricane in **. Unfortunately these incidents are outside of our immediate control. Although, we would have been unable to perform the specific procedure that you were originally scheduled for, we did offer you an alternative procedure (which is a standard for your medical situation as well) that would have still given us the diagnostic results that we needed. For this alternative procedure, the medication you took was still a prerequisite. You declined the alternative procedure. Hence, we tried to rectify this and reached out to our other offices to procure the necessary equipment. After you had left, one of our staff members from another office brought the supplies to the office. We called you to offer to return to have the full procedure done because we were able to get the equipment, but you declined to. Again, we understand that it can be frustrating but please note that alternatives were offered to you that you declined.If there is anything further that we can do to help rectify this matter, please reach out to us at ********************* and we would be more than happy to discuss this further with you.
