    Pattern of Complaint:

On June 28, 2023, BBB contacted Ship Auto Now LLC regarding a high volume and pattern of serious complaints. BBB received complaints alleging: Consumers are being notified that a contracted price for service is being increased by hundreds of dollars even after verbally being told it wouldn’t increase, sometimes just days before the service is to provided.

We have also identified a pattern in your responses to complaints stating that your contract has a provision in it that justifies the increase, and if the consumer is not happy, you can refund the deposit.

BBB notified Ship Auto Now LLC about the pattern of complaints and asked the business to voluntarily cooperate in eliminating the pattern by providing a written response outlining the specific steps it would implement in order to avoid similar complaints in the future. BBB also requested general information including the names & full contact information of the business’ principal officers and responsible management, associations with other businesses and a completed BBB Standard Business Questionnaire.

The business responded to the pattern of complaints with the following statement:

Our Business model is designed in such a way that sometimes there could be a change in the initial quote we offer to the customer.

We are Auto Transportation Brokers, so when the customer calls in to move their vehicle we look into the systems/tools to check recent moves that happened in the same route and give an estimated price accordingly. However, at the end these are the drivers who actually dictate the price and our job is to get back to the customer and inform them about the price the drivers are demanding for it. Then we do negotiations with both Drivers and the customers and try to move their vehicles at the best price possible and make sure the vehicles are safely transported. Even then if the customer does not wish to proceed, they have the right to get their money back from us if they paid us upfront.

We do understand the pricing is a big concern for the consumers and we are training ourselves and the employees to improve on it so that we can become more satisfactory to our customers.

I signed a "contract" to ship my truck. Text promised delivery for $1000 along with promise of delivery on the date I requested. This was an unsolicited text. They sent a contract with price on the top with my price in bold large lettering as well as estimated delivery date. They never called until Monday 9/3÷ when I texted them . Their offer was over double what I agreed to pay. Of course in the fine print it essentially says they can charge anything they want. It's a classic bait and switch. Why tell me one price when they have no intention of honoring it. This has got to stop!

My issue is just all the other complaints here. They were supposed to pick up a vehicle on 9/6 So it could be delivered by 9/9. And also like all the other complaints on the day of pick up something happened and the driver could not make it. Next day was told that they had found another driver but the price was almost 3 times the original quote. How many complaints can one place have. All with the same story?

date was 31 aug 24 to 4 sept 24 entered into a contract for shipment of our 2005 ******* from CA to MD and paid 200 dollar deposit. Vehicle was allowed to have 100 lbs of personal items by the contract with 1300 dollars upon delivery of vehicle. Ship now the used a 3rd party contractor to transport the vehicle. The 3rd party vendor added 200 more dollars to the final bill bringing the price up. Ship Now stated they would handle the issue and did not. Now the 3rd party is refusing to release our vehicle unless we pay via cash app or they will keep the vehicle. We will pursue both companies in court at a later date.

      Hello

In this case when the Driver went to pick up the Car it had extra Luggage than the Allowed limits. The Pick up person was informed that it will cost them $200 extra because of the extra luggage and the vehicle was picked up after they Agreed.

However when the Driver went to deliver the vehicle, They delivery person denied to the pay the extra payment of $200. Because of which the Driver did not deliver the vehicle and has parked it at a storage nearby. The driver is demanding the payment from the customer before releasing the vehicle.

Ship Auto Now was not informed before denying the payment to the driver and similarly We were not informed by the driver about the vehicle not delivered to the customer. We got informed later about this.

We are trying to resolve the issue for both the parties involved.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The vehicle had under 100 pounds of property in it at pick up per the contract, they would not come to the pick up residence per contract and we had to have ***** ***** drive 10 miles away to a parking lot to load up, the driver was in a verbal confrontation with the drop off rep ***** *****. I contacted Max M***** to get it resolved and was told to tell them they would take car of the issue the next business day as it was roughly 9 pm EST and the carrier supervisors were off. On Monday the 2nd I called Max again and texted multiple times and was told they were working on it. The carrier informed us 3 sept at 1148 via text to ****** ***** (who was not on the contract) that delivery would be on the 4th. When they came they would not deliver to the residence and I was on the phone with the company as well as ship auto now to resolve. They claimed that it was 200 pounds and when asked to show proof of the weight they refused. I refused to pay the additional fee until proof was provided from the origin. Both companies involved said they were leaving unless we paid the additional. They then proceeded to harass and threaten ****** ***** via text and phone stating "pay or else". She had agreed to pay the extra 200 however not until the vehicle was delivered, they still refused to deliver unless she used cashapp and paid in advance which she again refused because she didnt trust that they would provide the car if she paid in advance. She even agreed to go to said storage place and pay once she had confirmation and they refused to give her the address. They told me I would have to pick up in New Jersey, now they are stating it is locally stored and she just received another text today sept 6 at 1134 am EST that it was in PA and she would have to come there. After searching sever reviews online this has been done by the company to tons of people.   Regards, ****** *******

8/15/2024 - I placed an online request for vehicle transport quote from Seattle Washington to Houston Texas. There were several companies competing as they are brokers. They are quoting a low price to get me to agree. Then they up the price once it’s time to dispatch. As one broker quotes a price, the other posts for a higher amount to attract truck drivers. After repeatedly asking them to stop harassing me about the “low quote” i had them to verify the price, not knowing how they operate. The other company who was trying to get my business stated that they were not able to secure a driver because Ship Auto was over bidding. I asked Ship Auto and they said the other company was lying. So I sent them a screenshot of where they are bidding on my order after I asked them to remove it. I had to threaten to sue them. Then the response was sue us and then we will remove the bid. Now I’m out of money from deposits that I paid and I want $1250 reimbursed.

      Hello

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you
As per our records you shared your Addresses for the Pick up and Delivery of the vehicle and asked us to find a driver, However later on you went to a different company.

Once the customer denies to work with us we automatically remove the listing and stop working on your order. The screenshot of us posting the vehicle can be an old one when we were working on your order to try to find the driver.

Again we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and look forward to serve you
      Thanks

I was quoted a price for the pickup on my vehicle on 07/12/2024 of 800 dollars to pick it up from Maine and bring it to Nebraska. I paid 200 dollars and said the 600 would be due on delivery. The gentleman I spoke with informed me he would reach out to me the day of my pick up. Which was 07/16/2024. Never heard from him so I decided to reach out to him. Upon reaching out to him he told me the driver who was suppose to get my vehicle had issues with his trailer now he wants 1800 on top of the 200 already paid. I said that’s not what the contract say and that’s not what we agreed upon. He then informed me he would look for other drivers and he got back in touch with me saying one driver wanted to charge 1700 and the other 1500. I stated the contract said 800 and I was quoted 800 dollars and that’s what I was going to pay. He later informed me that anywhere I go to will charge that amount. I told him to just cancel the pick up and I would like a refund. He informed me he could not give a refund because I canceled my pick up when they clearly changed the price from the quote to the day of the pick up

We got an initial estimate though them for $500. We signed the contract and 20 minutes later they doubled the price on us accusing us that we were working with other companies. But in section 10 of the contract the price can vary IF we get into another CONTACT with a different company which we never did because they were the cheapest and we already were in contract with them. After speaking to multiple people on the phone with this company and their “competition” they were artificially inflating prices on us to price gouge us. Our only option was to either pay double than the contract or pay a cancel fee of $200.

As per the signed Agreement if the customer contacts other Companies this becomes the Breach of Agreement.Reason for that is if multiple companies start looking for drivers for the same vehicles this automatically inflates the Price and it becomes more expensive for the customer. We shared all the information about the companies Customer was working with and for the same reason the price went up.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Well that’s good I actually read the contract and I am showing your own contract to u. In section 10 (ten) of the contract it states: “The client agrees to not contract any other broker or carrier during the respective time which corresponds with their shipping option. Any client that is found working with another broker or carrier during this period is subject to a non-refundable deposit fee and price of shipment may increase.” Key word CONTRACT not contact in ur own contract. I want a 100% (full 200$) refund or I will be taking matters legally. Have a great day!!!!    ;) Regards, ****** *******

I signed a contract with them to move my car from Laredo, Texas to Friendswood, Texas to be picked up Monday, June 17th by 5pm for $225. I paid the deposit of $100 and supplied my credit card. When I called to confirm Monday morning they said their driver broke down and couldn’t pick up my vehicle on time. Then asked for more money and I agreed to pay $400 to get it moved on the same day. It is now end of day Monday with no confirmation of a driver for even tomorrow. The agent is extremely rude, telling me I was irritating and annoying him for asking questions and wanting confirmation on the transport of my vehicle. I tried canceling the load and they’re saying I need to pay $200 to cancel on top of the $100 I’ve already paid. I tried to get another carrier to pick up and stated that they cannot help because this company has my load as contracted yet they haven’t been able to get it picked up. My vehicle was in an accident and I’ve had to hire an attorney and really need to get this picked up before I start getting charged with storage fees. They were kind enough to let it sit over the weekend, but now I’m stuck with not being able to work with someone else and them having my credit card which I cannot cancel because I have revolving charges on that specific card. What can be done?

I am filing this complaint against Ship Auto Now LLC for failing to provide the agreed-upon vehicle shipping service and unjustly rebilling me after I successfully disputed an initial charge. Here are the key details: 1. Service Contract: • Date: May 29, 2024 • Service: Shipment of my 2003 ***** motorcycle from Prairie Grove, AR to Elgin, IL • Total Price: $600 ($150 paid via credit card, $450 upon delivery) 2. Issues with Service: • Payment: I paid the initial $150. • Failed Pickups: Ship Auto Now failed to pick up my motorcycle on the agreed date, May 30, 2024. They sent three drivers who either refused to pick up the vehicle or were delayed due to issues not caused by me. • Contract Breach: They did not fulfill their obligation to arrange pickup within the 10-business-day window, resulting in the vehicle being auctioned. 3. Deposit Refund: • I requested a refund of the $150 deposit due to their failure to perform. They refused, so I filed a dispute with my credit card company (*****), which initially credited the amount. 4. Rebill and Misrepresentation: • Ship Auto Now challenged the dispute, leading to a rebill of $150. They falsely claimed the delays were my fault, despite the payment to Co-Part being made on time and the delays being due to their logistics. 5. Resolution Attempts: • I have tried to resolve this with Ship Auto Now, providing evidence of their failure, but they continue to dispute and refuse the refund. Desired Resolution: • A full refund of the $150 deposit. • An acknowledgment of their logistical failures and false claims. • Assurance of no further disputes or rebills regarding this matter. Thank you for your assistance.

The company sent a contract and agreed to date and amount to transport vehicle. I did not hear from them days past agreed pickup date. They finally one month later said they would be charging my card for $500 more than agreed. When I stated no. They yelled and threatened to take my car. I was told by other carriers m car was listed for an amount higher than I was told. I asked to have my vehicle removed. They refused. My health is affected by not having a vehicle and they used profanity and screamed. Foreign accents!

I hired the company to ship my vehicle. They quoted me a price for an open transport and a closed transport. I paid for the closed transport, but received the cheaper open transport. As such, I am seeking a refund for the difference in costs for services purchased and services received.
