    Pattern of Complaint:

On June 28, 2023, BBB contacted Ship Auto Now LLC regarding a high volume and pattern of serious complaints. BBB received complaints alleging: Consumers are being notified that a contracted price for service is being increased by hundreds of dollars even after verbally being told it wouldn’t increase, sometimes just days before the service is to provided.

We have also identified a pattern in your responses to complaints stating that your contract has a provision in it that justifies the increase, and if the consumer is not happy, you can refund the deposit.

BBB notified Ship Auto Now LLC about the pattern of complaints and asked the business to voluntarily cooperate in eliminating the pattern by providing a written response outlining the specific steps it would implement in order to avoid similar complaints in the future. BBB also requested general information including the names & full contact information of the business’ principal officers and responsible management, associations with other businesses and a completed BBB Standard Business Questionnaire.

The business responded to the pattern of complaints with the following statement:

Our Business model is designed in such a way that sometimes there could be a change in the initial quote we offer to the customer.

We are Auto Transportation Brokers, so when the customer calls in to move their vehicle we look into the systems/tools to check recent moves that happened in the same route and give an estimated price accordingly. However, at the end these are the drivers who actually dictate the price and our job is to get back to the customer and inform them about the price the drivers are demanding for it. Then we do negotiations with both Drivers and the customers and try to move their vehicles at the best price possible and make sure the vehicles are safely transported. Even then if the customer does not wish to proceed, they have the right to get their money back from us if they paid us upfront.

We do understand the pricing is a big concern for the consumers and we are training ourselves and the employees to improve on it so that we can become more satisfactory to our customers.

This company schemed me out of money. They quoted a price of $750. Sent docs to me to sign. I needed Saturday delivery. Patrick Charles called me back and advise $1400. I told them no. He quoted line #11, then advised if I don’t agree $200 cancellation fee. Put his boss on the phone line and he called me uneducated because I wouldn’t agree to the price change, and that he will put a lien on my property. He never sent the driver request until I increased to the $200 amount. This is far the worst shipping place in the country. I’ve shipped several cars and never an issue. Please revoke their license. Same complaints and yet this garbage company stays in business. I am still boiling mad how they played good cop and bad cop and over talked me the entire time!

      Hello
The price quoted to the customer was $750 which was an estimated price. And the total cost paid by the customer to move the vehicle is $950 on which the customer agreed and signed the Agreement. We are attaching the copy of the signed Agreement as well.
If the customer did not want to ship the vehicle for $950 he could have easily asked and we would have stopped working on the order.
We did not charge anything from the customer till the time he agreed to the new price and signed the Agreement.
Again apologize for the inconvenience caused
      Thanks

4/1/24 was told driver was dispatched and vehicle would be picked up on 4/2/4.Vehicle was not picked up.I was busy at work and gave a couple days with no contact from Ship Auto Now.I contacted them and was told drivers truck broke down and that he was the only driver on that route to pick up for agreed upon and signed document price.I was given amounts over 1000 higher than what I was originally told to have vehicle picked up.I did not agree to pick up at that price.I waited a few more days with no contact from Ship Auto Now.A week had gone by since original contract I signed with them.I contacted other brokers to hopefully get car shipped.Prices were all higher than what Ship Auto Now originally told me so I did not accept.I contacted Ship Auto Now again and agreed to pay 500 more than original signed contract. Was told to sign new contract, which I promptly did.The next day,was told by driver that they were picking up the next day.I contacted driver the next day and he said he could not pick up.I contacted Ship Auto Now and was told that price now was 200 higher than what I had agreed to the second time to have new driver pick up.When I told them I would not sign a new contract at a now higher price I was told that I had breached my contract because I contacted different broker 7 days after I was told vehicle would be picked up.It was then that I told them to forget itI canceled the contract and said to keep the money because.of what I saw as the run around and unethical business practices.I then received a message from Ship Auto Now that I needed.to agree that I broke the contract and needed to admit to such and they would keep the 150 as a cancelation charge. After a week and a half, two failed agreements on their part, multiple attempts.to raise price significantly,I had to agree that I had broken contract, they broke their own contract...Ship Auto Now is a scam

Max M***** quotes $650 to ship a vehicle and then tried to charge $1200. I tried to cancel the agreement because the price was nearly double and he refused to cancel and refund my money. He told me to try and hire someone else for a better price and when I did, he used the shipping broker board to inflate the price to $2500. Do not use this company. Max M***** is a criminal and an unfair business person.

Date of transaction: 4/3/2024 Deposit $300.00 Estimate to move two cars from Kent, WA to Melbourne, FL:$ 2,100. "Kevin" confirmed on the phone while inquiring that they had a driver available to pick up the next day (4/4/2024) at 1pm. I asked if the price was going to go up and he said "no". He sent the a contract and I signed it, and paid a $300 deposit. Kevin contacted me the next day at 12pm saying they have found a carrier that would pick up and deliver the cars for $3,000. I responded, and said it was unacceptable after the discussion we had over the phone the day before. This conversation repeated without getting to the original price discussed and quoted. I maintained contact with Kevin through 4/6/2024 without any updates. I called Kevin on 4/6/2024 to cancel and requested my car be removed forn their "central system". Kevin said they would cancel, return my $300, but wanted me to pay a $200 cancellation fee. The contract does not have a stipulation to charge $200 if cancelled after the first a available pick up date. I asked to speak with their manager. The manager "Alex S**** - 786-785-7009 - Clifton Park New York" refused to cancel my order, refund my deposit, and threaten me that he would pick up my cars anyways and charge me! He said he would report me to my credit card company. They think I want to report fraud with my credit card company. I have also sent a cancellation email to their company "office".

Ship auto now told me that they will transport my car for a fee of $550 in which I agreed. I paid a $150 deposit and on the day of pick up, they increased my price to $1350. the price increase occurred right before my flight out and with the increase i had to cancel the flight, loss the time and the cost of the flight and drive my car up yourself. I will not be paying the $200 additional fee that they wanted me to pay because i agreed a fee and he tried to switch it up at the last minute and i did not sign up for that and wouldn’t be comfortable for someone who to be driving my car that long for so many miles. All because they couldn’t find a driver to deliver on what was agreed. Totally unsatisfactory and misleading business practice that this company continues to do. I will not be paying for a service I never used. I want a refund for unsatisfactory service. He was never able to secure a truck to put the car on and was trying to give me alternate means and threats that were not what I agreed, last minute and unsatisfactory. It is a scam!

I am writing to file a formal complaint against ShipAutoNow for their unethical business practices and breach of contract. My experience with them has been highly disappointing, and I believe it is important to bring their actions to your attention. On [Date], I signed a contract with ShipAutoNow for the transportation of my vehicle, agreeing to a total cost of $1100. According to the terms, the driver was supposed to pick up my vehicle on the following Monday. However, on the scheduled pickup day, I received no communication from the company. Concerned, I reached out to them, only to discover that the agreed-upon price had suddenly escalated to $2300. Additionally, I was informed that the pickup would be delayed until the following day. This unexpected change not only contradicted our initial agreement but also left me in a position of inconvenience. Upon expressing my dissatisfaction and concern about the deviation from our contract, I requested to cancel the service. Shockingly, I was told that a cancellation fee of $200 would be imposed, even though the company had not fulfilled its commitment to pick up my vehicle on the agreed-upon date. This situation is deeply troubling, as ShipAutoNow is not only failing to honor the terms of our agreement but is also attempting to impose unjust fees for a service that has not been rendered as per the original agreement. I firmly believe that this behavior is unacceptable and goes against fair business practices. In light of this, I have informed ShipAutoNow that I will not be paying the unjust cancellation fee. Instead, I am reaching out to the Better Business Bureau to report these unethical practices and will also be filing a complaint with my credit card company. I trust that the Better Business Bureau will investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to address these unethical business practices.

Dispatch ask me for a down payment of $750.00 which I sent for my car to be transported from California. He told me two weeks later that he couldn’t find anyone to transport it at the time because of the Covid situation and promised to refund my money. From that point it was all just games, acting as if he sent it. He couldn’t send it unless I signed documents that stated no refund which I refused to sign . From that point I lost contact with him and he never answered me again.

On 8/24/23 I paid $200 to this company to reserve a driver to pick up my car and signed an agreement for a total of $900 ($700 owed at delivery). The day before pick up they stated that their price would change due to gas changes and the new amount owed would be $1550 instead of the $900 that I had signed for. I immediately asked for the $200 deposit back and never received a reply but instead kept getting passive aggressive texts stating that other companies would be charging the same and I should still go through them. They then had Dennis the “Public Relation Supervisor” blowing up my phone with why their company would be the best company to go for. I requested my money back from the “Public Relation Supervisor” and he stated that they took it because it was the cancellation fee stated in the legally binding agreement. I then stated back that no where in their “legally binding agreement” does it state that this company will charge extra money 24 HOURS BEFORE pickup. They scammed me out of my deposit among others (look at the BBB reviews) and are still and up and running company which doesn’t make sense. I would like my money back to be done with this company in general. I don’t want them to have another satisfaction of taking advantage of another customer and blaming the customer for their last minute skyrocketing prices.

Ship Auto Now has double listed our car, with an intentionally low bid that is preventing our car from being transported. We decided not to do business with them when after they offered us an individual’s ******* wallet for payment, to complete the reservation. We then learned from our actual auto shipper that they went ahead and posted the bid anyway, which makes our listing look like an error and not get picked up by a driver. It is clear from previous complaints that this company is working some sort of scam. When I called the company, a man in broken english told me that I had signed the contract and that there was nothing I can do.

Hello ****Apologize for the inconvenience caused to you, However as per our records You have signed an agreement with us which clearly states you cant assign other company to work on your vehicle shipment I am attaching the signed agreement with the reply Also when you say your Car isnt getting picked up because we posted your vehicle on Board that is just a straight lie. Industry doesnt work like this. That is just an excuse the other company is giving you because they are unable to complete their job. However as per your request we have removed your vehicle from the board Looking forward to serve you in future. Thanks
