Negligence, negligence, negligence My 89 year old mother was seen in the ** 2 days ago.After we visited her at the **, the doctor said she would be admitted and she was being treated with antibiotics and other meds for pneumonia and fluid in her lung. However when I called to check her condition I was told that she was being transferred to a hospice hospital. She did get transferred later that night. She does not have a discharge plan and is not getting the necessary meds. Aside from putting her in serious danger, the hospital refuses to give the family any information about her discharge plan or even who authorized it. After calling the patient advocate, the nurses station, social worker and the administration line I was told that any additional calls made to the hospital would be reported to the police. Imagine that, call the police on a family member trying to get information and assistance for an 89 year old patient who in in mortal danger. I forwarded Power of Attorney and *********** Proxi paperwork and still being stonewalled. Is that advocacy? Beware of White Plains Hospital administration.I do have to acknowledge the nurses, techs and nurses aides. They do an amazing job.
