Contract #********* dated 7/29/2020; revised 10/1/2020 & signed by me 10/4/2020. The revised contracted amount was $32,950. Including a $3,000 deposit paid in 2020, I paid a total of $26,032.50. The work didn’t start until July 2021. The problem that needed fixing was that the brick pillars on either end of the porch were leaning. The front porch had been added to the house without footers. (The home itself is 825 sq. ft.) The Jamison representative told me the entire porch needed to be demolished & footers installed. The original porch roof would remain. The contracted agreement was to demolish the front brick porch with 2 columns, insert footers and rebuild to the porch to same dimensions, keeping the porch roof. • Porch was not built to same dimensions. The already very small porch is now 2 inches shorter in depth. • Because the depth of the porch is 2 inches shorter, the steps to the front door are not as deep (front to back) as they were. They were also built uneven in height. • The wall on the left side of the steps is too wide. It was supposed to be 9 inches; it is 14 inches. Because of that error, the wall runs 7 inches under the hinge-side (left side) of the storm door and made the steps narrower (left to right). There now is an “overhang” on both sides of the steps. This also encroaches on having enough clear access to the doorway and to the porch. • There are 2 windows that lead under the concrete floor of the porch to the cellar of the house. They were not put in at the time stipulated in the contract. Consequently, I was told (after the fact) they could not be installed in the locked position. So, they were installed un-locked & left unlocked. They remain unlocked. I cannot fit under the concrete floor of the porch, to lock those outside street-level windows.
