This business has a history of violating BBB name and logo policy and has falsely stated BBB accreditation or referenced the BBB name or logo in an unauthorized manner, despite BBB's efforts to get the business to cease using BBB trademarks. This use of BBB trademarks constitutes trademark infringement and is a violation of trademark rights of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. On December 28, 2018, BBB Serving North Central Texas requested that the business modify or discontinue advertising claims on its website and Facebook page stating, "Accredited Business" and "A+ Better Business Bureau Member for 8 years".

Records indicate that Lost Pet Finder has not been BBB Accredited for 8 years.

Section 1 of the BBB Code of Advertising states, "The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used. An advertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literally true. Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring a material fact."

While the business removed the trademarks from their website, as of October 18, 2019, the business has failed to modify or discontinue all advertised claims and trademarks from social media.
