On Thursday, March 24, 2022, Adler Moving picked up a truckload of furniture and other items in Sherman, Texas and brought them to Carrollton, Texas. They were then to pick up a mattress, box spring, and bed frame to bring back to Sherman, Texas on their way back to their business in Pottsboro, Texas. We agreed on a charge of $175 an hour, including driving time, for the service. The move started fine. It took about one hour to pick up the load in Sherman. They then decided to stop for lunch before coming to Carrollton. After spending over an hour for lunch and continuing to Carrollton, it look right at an hour to unload the furniture and other items from Sherman, and load the mattress, box spring, and bed frame in Carrollton. At that point, I wanted to pay for the move before they headed back to Sherman and Pottsboro. One of the employees then gave me a contract that stated they had worked 5 1/2 hours. Since the load in Sherman, unloading in Carrollton, and loading the bedroom set in Carrollton, only took two hours, I questioned being charged 3 1/2 hours for the drive to Carrollton and back to their base. I have driven back and forth to Sherman in under two hours, so I thought 3 1/2 hours was excessive. The workers had me talk to their boss. After I threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau, he hung up on me. I called back, and eventually offered to pay for 5 hours if he would deliver the bedroom set in Sherman. He charged me 4 1/2 hours, but refused to deliver the bedroom set that was taken off the truck and is currently sitting in my living room. He also refused to take a credit card and demanded that I either pay by cash or check, which is not the company's normal policy. The check I wrote has been cashed, and as far as I am concerned, the business transaction has been concluded. However, I will never use Adler Moving again. The men doing the moving did a good job, but their boss was not a pleasant person to conduct business with.

Our rates are gate to gate, this was relayed multiple times before the contract is signed. In a nutshell you wanted me to waive the fuel charge, an hour of labor and make an additional stop for you. Our trucks, like most commercial traffic limited due to price to non-toll roads. It took us 1.5 to load, 1.25 hours to unload. At an absolute minimum, in a car (not Moving truck) it will take an hour from Carrolton to Sherman. This brings us to 4.75 hours. The stop in Sherman, out of our way to our office would have been billed .75 hours, which collectively brings us to our bill of 5.5 hours. Credit card transactions would cost us another 3.5% and we already had, due to your temper reduced our bill 1 labor hour plus fuel. We were not going to lose any more on this job, we declined to make an additional stop at an already discounted rate. We wish you the best and good luck!

Those times are not accurate. We timed the loading and unloading times. Both were right at an hour. Thus, we were charged for 3 1/12 hours of driving time which is excessive. I offered to pay for 5 hours, but that offer was rejected.

I was told that I would be paying the extra 3.5% for using the credit card. I agreed to do that. One of your workers said you would not take the credit card because you were afraid I would cancel the payment. I have never done that, nor would I ever do anything like that.
