Around October 6th we contacted ********************* *********************************************** to get an estimate on installation of a coil and mixing valve to our boiler. ****************** quoted us a price of $885 and offered to do a complimentary service visit to make sure that those were the parts we needed. He stated that would not be able to install the parts that day, they would just do an inspection. We then called the office and spoke with ******* to set up the service call for Wednesday, October 13.******* stated that the work had to be paid for that day by check or credit card and a 3% service fee would be charged if we used a credit card. When the technicians went to the house that day they verified that we needed the coil and mixing valve and that they did have time to do the work that afternoon. My daughter who lives in the house and was working from home that day agreed to have the work done that day but said she did not have a check to pay them that day since we were previously told my ****************** that the work could not be done on October 13. My daughter explained this ******* and ******* said we could drop off a check at the office the following day. The work was completed on October 13 in the early afternoon. At 4:50 that afternoon ******* called my daughter and insisted that my daughter pay for the service call right then by credit card because ******* had to "close out her books for the day". My daughter complied and gave ******* her credit card number over the phone. Because she used a credit card we were charged a service fee of $28.84 by ********************* ***********************************************. I called the office on two occasions to try and get a refund of the $28.84 once speaking to ******* and once speaking to ******************. We did not get satisfaction from either one. I think this was totally unfair since there had been a verbal agreement that we would bring a check to the office the following day. I would like BBB assistance to get our $28.84 refunded to us.
