    Pattern of Complaint:

    On June 28, 2023, BBB contacted Ship Auto Now LLC regarding a high volume and pattern of serious complaints. BBB received complaints alleging: Consumers are being notified that a contracted price for service is being increased by hundreds of dollars even after verbally being told it wouldn’t increase, sometimes just days before the service is to provided.

    We have also identified a pattern in your responses to complaints stating that your contract has a provision in it that justifies the increase, and if the consumer is not happy, you can refund the deposit.

    BBB notified Ship Auto Now LLC about the pattern of complaints and asked the business to voluntarily cooperate in eliminating the pattern by providing a written response outlining the specific steps it would implement in order to avoid similar complaints in the future. BBB also requested general information including the names & full contact information of the business’ principal officers and responsible management, associations with other businesses and a completed BBB Standard Business Questionnaire.

    The business responded to the pattern of complaints with the following statement:

    Our Business model is designed in such a way that sometimes there could be a change in the initial quote we offer to the customer.

    We are Auto Transportation Brokers, so when the customer calls in to move their vehicle we look into the systems/tools to check recent moves that happened in the same route and give an estimated price accordingly. However, at the end these are the drivers who actually dictate the price and our job is to get back to the customer and inform them about the price the drivers are demanding for it. Then we do negotiations with both Drivers and the customers and try to move their vehicles at the best price possible and make sure the vehicles are safely transported. Even then if the customer does not wish to proceed, they have the right to get their money back from us if they paid us upfront.

    We do understand the pricing is a big concern for the consumers and we are training ourselves and the employees to improve on it so that we can become more satisfactory to our customers.

      I placed an order to have my 2011 Chevrolet Traverse transported from Union City, TN. to Bethpage, TN. on 9/21/23. I spoke with a lady and scheduled a pick-up for 9/27/23 between 2-4pm. The driver was suppose to call me an hour before pick-up. Neither action happened. Later, the driver texted me stating his truck was having issues. I called Ship Auto Now and spoke again with a lady, I think, named Sophia J******….not sure. She stated she would try and get another driver, but doubted she could get one that late in the day. I then texted her inquiring about a refund of the $100 deposit I had paid on Sept. 21. No reply!!! The next day I called her because I hadn’t heard anything from her. At this point, I asked for my deposit back but she continued telling me she was sending a driver. I told her over and over not to send anyone to my home and that I was gonna take care of it myself. She just wouldn’t listen. She then asked me if I was cancelling the driver…..I told her I wasn’t cancelling anybody because I hadn’t spoken to any drivers and that was for her to do. Later that day, after I told her not to several times, this guy shows up at my home with a flatbed trailer and he doesn’t even speak English…..I just sent him away and call her to complain. She then says I owe her a $200 cancellation fee, which was why she sent that driver against my wishes….and a $75 carrier show-up fee. At this point, I hung up on her. During all these conversations she said she would return my deposit, but didn’t. I will NEVER do business with this company again. She was upset because I spoke with another company, but they breached the contract when they didn’t show up as scheduled. I just want my deposit returned, which was sent to them via CashApp in the amount of $100. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

      This company, Ship Auto Now, posted my car delivery on the board without my permission. I never even requested a quote from them. Multiple attempts at contacting them to get them to remove the listing went to voicemail that is full of no one will respond. I require them to remove the posting immediately.

      I was trying to ship a car from California to Va.I requested to get quotes .Several emails and text came in .Ship Now Auto is one of them.Christina H*** sent text and email about how they get their driver to ship it and l would have to deposit 200 for a place on their truck. 750 will be paid at delivery.This was a scam as they never had a truck.l set it up for 3 weeks later .Sept 22.The money was taken by Christina H*** on the 15 of Sept with the guarantee it will be picked up on the 22. Time goes by and l didn’t hear from her again until Sept 22 when she sent a text stating the truck broke down and the car will not be picked up.l requested a refund and she said wait a few days. She then sent a text saying the the cost would be 1400 more. I told her that was not the agree contract amount and l requested a refund due to the original agreement not done. I have not heard from since so l am filing a complaint is hopes to recover the 200 that was stolen and to get the word out that Ship Auto Now LLC is a scam And her partner help that the money went to through **** *** is ****** ******.Do not use this company. This is a scam

      On September 15, 2023, I went online to seek information and pricing for vehicle hauling from Pontiac Michigan to Huntington West Virginia. I was contacted by Alan R***** from ship auto now with a guaranteed price of $350. I told him I was shopping around with other companies for the best price. He had me to forward him the 2 lower priced offers. Alan told me the other companies will increase the price at pickup or delivery time and there is no way to get it shipped for the lower price with the competitors. He assured me he can get the vehicle picked up on today Tuesday September 19 and delivered the same day for $350. I agreed to the $350 price. I had to pay a $150 reservation fee to a Farhan H***** on cash app. Farhan H***** is the driver that would haul my vehicle for $350. I was to pay him the remaining $200 when he delivered the vehicle today. During the time of pickup, Alan R***** from Ship Auto Now sent me a email stating the new price is $750 and not the $350 as reserved. He claims a this is a different driver so the price increased. This is the email I received from Alan R*****. Also, we searched a lot for drivers with winch and found that there are very few available. As a result, the market price has changed and the driver we have found is quoting us $750, which includes the winch. We are still doing our best to find a driver for the originally quoted price. However, if you need it picked up today, we can provide you with this driver for a total price of $700, and we will also compensate you with an additional $50. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, and this is the best option we can offer you at the moment. This needs to be stopped because this is a scam- Ship Auto Now misleads customers!

      I was told I had to deposit $150 via cash app which was very weird to me, for a $500 contract. I was also told I will have a driver the next day. When I was called by other trucking companies they pulled my information and said my quote was submitted for $1475 then lowered to $900. The $500 quote was a rip off I was also told for a drive from RI to NC it’s $700+. I requested a refund but I was told I was a liar and antagonized. I have all the text messages and screen shots as proof. Looking at reviews I have the same issue as others. They said they would send a cancellation I never received the email

      My wife contacted this business online and spoke with David. David gave us a price of $850 and after we signed contract for $ 850 he told us it would now be $ 1250 so we told David no thanks we will take our business elsewhere. We then found out we were in this database that we could not hire anyone else until they removed us. We contact David and he told us it would cost $200 to be removed and good luck finding anyone to transport until removed..This is absolutely extortion and he was right no one so far i have contact will even quote until this is removed

      It started on July 12,2023 when I signed an order invoice #********** to transport 5 classic cars and a ******** trailer from Ohio to Texas. They were to be picked up on July 31,2023. They were being done by 2 different drivers. The cars where picked up on August 1,2023 and as of August 3,2023 they still had not provided me a driver for the trailer. I was contacted by another company that they had hired and than canceled. I hired him to do the job. He picked them up that night and delivered the trailer and a 4 wheeler to Texas for me. Ship Auto Now has charged my credit card $300.00 on August 1,2023 saying their driver picked up the trailer. They say they have a " Bill of Lading" proving their driver picked up the trailer but they will not share it. The driver I hired is not at his office right now and can't send me proof until Tuesday or Wednesday and then it will be a receipt for his services and Ship Auto Now are saying they need a "Bill of Lading". My company doesn't deal in Bills of Lading. Ship Auto Now refuse to refund my $300.00.

      I contracted directly with ***** Towing and made all my own arrangements. They (***** Towing} called ME not Ship Auto Now. I was told that he had taken the assignment and that Ship Auto Now had called and canceled him. He already had my # and information so he called me to see if  they had contracted with anyone else. I had been from 7/31/2023 when the trailer was supposed to be picked up until 7/3/2023 and they were still telling me that they couldn't find anyone that had the right equipment to transport it. I had just talked to they 5 minutes before ***** Towing called me and was told that they were staying late to get me a driver. When ***** Towing called and I talked with them I decided to hire them myself. I texted Ship Auto after talking to him and told them they could go home that I had found my own driver. Now they are saying that they set it all up. I have been in contact with ***** Towing and asking for some sort of proof that I contracted with them and no Ship Auto Now but I have not received anything yet, but Ship Auto Now drivers only take Cash App., Postal Money Orders or cash. I have sent you my bank statement showing that I paid ***** Towing in two payments to get my trailer here to Tulia, TX. All I am asking for is my $300.00 back that Ship Auto deducted from my account and NEVER found me a driver.

      On June 20th, 2023 I signed an agreement and paid $200 deposit for a vehicle pickup from my residence to the east coast. The agent stated in email, "I can arrange a carrier for you for 3rd July." July 3rd came and went and i reached out to the agent. The agreement i signed was for total shipping -no other costs, coast to coast, $800. The agent responded that they were having trouble finding a driver for the quoted price as a reason for missing the July 3rd date. The agent came back with several quotes, from $2000, to $1650, to $1450... Now feeling like I was in a bait and switch scheme, I asked the agent to provide me the date that a vehicle was shipped to quote me $800. The agent provided no information. The agent asked how much i was willing to pay, I said i wanted what was quoted but would go to $1100; agent stated nobody would transport my car for such a low price. Obviously, I never received details for the basis of the original quoted price. This broker told me that the price increase was due to a rise in gas costs of .20 cents. I provided the broker/agent with a new date to meet closer to the original quote, and the best they could do was $1450, slightly less than double the original quote. I would not sign a cancellation letter after asking for my deposit back since the agreement to the letter would entitle the broker to keep my deposit. Bait and Switch and poor business practices. I should have researched this broker more carefully before paying a deposit in good faith with a company that operates with an age old tactic to defraud customers -bait and switch. Comically, the agent is saying "The best I can do for you is to turn the deposit amount into the cancellation fee, and you dont have to pay any extra amount."

      I REQUESTED A QUOTE FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY PROVIDED INITIAL QUOTE AND WITHOUT MY APPROVAL POSTED MY INFORMATION ON THE CENTRAL DISPATCH WEB SITE FOR DRIVERS TO BID. I REQUESTED AT LEAST 6 TIMES TO REMOVE AS I DID NOT HIRE THEM AND DID NOT APPROVE ANY POSTINGS. AS AN EXTORTION METHOD THEY REFUSED TO REMOVE THE LISTING UNLESS I PAID THEM THEIR EXTORTION FEE. THEY THEN REPLIED WITH THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT "I will also see how will you be able to ship that vehicle without paying me cancellation fees.       We got a quote $ 800 from this company to ship my car from ******* **** ** ** ******** ** and paid $ 150 deposit on 5/15/23 via *******. Christina **** was the agent who requested me to pay via *******. The pick up schedule was on 7/3/23 and Christina repeatedly mentioned that there will not be a change of cost or schedule. On 6/29/23, I was talking to her to confirm our pick-up schedule and Christina mentioned she will provide us the driver information a day before the pick up date. However, on 7/2/23 when I emailed her to receive the driver information, and she didn’t respond. On the day of pick-up scheduled, she emailed me that the driver has a personal issue and cannot make the schedule and requested me to raise the cost to $1350 to find another driver. I found out that there are other customers who have experienced the same situation on BBB reviews, I requested refund the deposit. However, she refused it and charged us cancellation of $200 instead.
