On July 12, 2024, BBB Serving North Central Texas requested that Get Course  Done substantiate, modify, or discontinue of advertising claims on the company's website. The business advertises, in part:

• “We Guarantee You An ‘A’ Grade In Your Online Class”
• “Get Help With Your Homework, Exams & Discussion Posts”
• “Secure Payment Method, Affordable & Top-Rated Service”
• “50+ Subjects Catered”
• “We provide excellent academic support and guidance at getcoursedone.com.”
• “The model papers we give are intended to be used for research and study purposes rather than delivered as completed projects.”
• “Under no circumstances can students submit our model papers to any academic institution as their original work.”
  

Notably, a search of the Texas Secretary of State’s did not show an active filing for Get Course Done. BBB requested information from the business concerning if it is registered to conduct business in Texas, its ownership and physical location. The address advertised by the business appears to be in a parking garage.

Additionally, the business has a pattern of complaints concerning misleading advertisements, refund issues/guarantees not honored, products not being delivered. BBB requested that the business engage with our office to reduce or eliminate the noted pattern of complaints stemming from the company’s marketing practices.

BBB also requested the business respond to contradictory terms and conditions advertising they guarantee an “A” grade, while stating “under no circumstances can students submit our model papers to any academic institution,” while actively taking tests for students online.

Lastly, BBB requested that the business provide a response to concerns that testimonials and reviews being advertised are not from actual consumers. BBB noted concerns with repeated language, grammatical errors, and odd phrasing contained in the company’s positive reviews. BBB also requested the business respond to multiple reviews indicating the business is a “scam”.

The BBB Code of Advertising states, “Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used.”

The BBB Code of Advertising also states, “30.1 In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if:

30.1.1 It is not genuine and does not actually represent the current opinion of the endorser;

30.1.2 The actual wording of the testimonial or endorsement has been altered in such a way as to change its overall meaning and impact;

30.1.3 It contains representations or statements which would be misleading if made directly by the advertiser”

As of August 22, 2024, the business has failed to respond to BBBs requests. BBB has referred its concerns to the Federal Trade Commission and Office of the Texas Attorney General.
